Acupuncturist, Medical Qigong Practitioner [Visit Makha's Services]
Makha is a Licensed Acupuncturist and Medical Qigong Practitioner. She holds a B.S. in Biology from the University of California, Santa Cruz. Her journey to Traditional Chinese Medicine started in the summer of 2004 when she was a pre-medical student volunteering at Rui Jin Hospital in Shanghai, China. It was there that she experienced, first-hand, the effectiveness of treating complex disorders with acupuncture and herbs.
When Traditional Chinese Medicine helped Makha’s mother recover from alopecia and acupuncture helped her father recover from Bell’s palsy, she knew that Chinese Medicine was her calling. In 2014 she received her Masters of Science in Oriental Medicine from the Acupuncture and Integrative Medicine College in Berkeley, CA.
While earning her Masters, Makha interned at the Jewish Community Free Clinic and UC Berkeley Sport Medicine Clinic. After receiving her CA Board License, Makha spent a year interning with Joshua Margolis learning specialized acupuncture pain management and manual medicine techniques. In addition, she has been working and providing treatments at Santa Rosa Community Acupuncture Clinic.
Striving to provide the best alternative treatments for each of her patients, Makha is constantly studying different modalities of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Her areas of focus are pain management and reproductive health. She is fluent in Laotian, Thai and English.
