Sea Buckthorn Benefits

Sea Buckthorn is the richest plant source of Omega-7, a type of essential fatty acid that specifically nourishes dry mucus membranes (all of our "linings") throughout the body.  Much of the positive research on Sea Buckthorn has focused on eye dryness, but at the shop we also recommend it for vaginal dryness, dry mouth and generally dry skin.  This makes internal Sea Buckthorn a GREAT remedy for perimenopause/menopause, when declining estrogen levels can leave people feeling crispy, dry and wrinkly. And for dry fall and winter skin, Sea Buckthorn is a must--nourishing dry skin from the inside out.
Other studies suggest benefit for the digestive system (specifically gastrointestinal inflammatory conditions like colitis), liver health, immune health, cardiovascular health, and skin healing.
We are fans of  SeaBuck Wonders because it is a blend of both berry and seed oils, and boasts the highest concentration of omega-7's of any Sea buckthorn on the market.  It is also an ultraclean, ultra-cold processed "supercritical CO2" extraction.  This produces an extremely stable oil that contains the array of nutrients found in the plant in nature.
Topically, Sea Buckthorn is a nourishing powerhouse. It is featured in our Dream Repair Serum, Frankincense & Rose Facial Oil, and our new top seller, Phyto-Renew Facial Oil.

Here are just a few of Sea buckthorn's benefits when applied to the skin:

Moisturizes and Nourishes the Skin:

Sea buckthorn oil penetrates deep into the skin, providing intense hydration without leaving a greasy residue. Its high content of carotenes, vitamin E and fatty acids helps repair the skin's barrier, keeping it soft and supple.

Reduces Inflammation and Redness:

The anti-inflammatory properties of sea buckthorn oil make it effective in reducing the appearance of skin inflammation and redness. Its soothing properties make it beneficial for conditions such as eczema, rosacea, and acne, soothing irritated skin and promoting healing.

Accelerates Wound Healing:

Sea buckthorn oil contains regenerative compounds that promote faster wound healing. Its application on cuts, burns, sun-impacted skin and other minor injuries may speed up the healing process and can help reduce the risk of infection

Anti-Aging Properties:

Rich in antioxidants, sea buckthorn oil helps combat the signs of aging. It fights free radicals, which cause premature aging, and may stimulate collagen production, reducing the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and age spots.
